Birthday Gift Idea - Making Milestone Birthdays Ones to Remember

Birthday parties are rarely simple. You can never keep up with which new cartoon character, your two year old will be fascinated with so you can have it as a theme on their birthday and with teenagers it's even more difficult to have a birthday without them complaining that you're embarrassing them. The sheer amount of supervision that little kids need is exhausting and providing it is even harder and it doesn't stop once they're teenagers but with the milestone birthdays; the big ones like hitting your twenties or thirties are supposed to be much calmer but big nevertheless.

Planning a twenty first or thirtieth birthday party is difficult; you have to pull off birthday party decorations that aren't balloons and you're probably going to wonder if your friend/ sibling/ kid is going to like wearing those pointed birthday hats. Then there is the food and the birthday gift itself. The birthday gift has to be either something that'll be memorable or something that's bound to wow the birthday girl/guy.

As far as the decorations are concerned, it really isn't a birthday unless you have balloons and streamers; if you're wondering whether to have them or not based simply on the birthday number then you may be making a mistake. It depends more on the kind of person whose birthday it is. If they're the fun loving sort then not having balloons at the party might be a disappointment. For most people who turn twenty one, just the absence of a clown at their birthday party will be a huge relief.

What makes these birthdays really memorable is having everyone in your family and all your friends there so whether you're planning a party for your sister or for your friend, invite everyone and do whatever you can to make sure they show up. As for the gift; try birthday gift baskets. You can always find something unique in gift baskets or you can go for a really original option like fruit bouquets.

And finally one of the best ways to make any birthday special is to get it on camera and take lots and lots of pictures.

Best Fathers Day Gifts - Fathers Day Ideas

Buying gifts for men isn’t easy whether it’s your father, your brother, your husband or your boyfriend, when it’s time to buy a gift for them good ideas and inspiration fly out the window. There’s all the more pressure to buy a good gift because as women, we insist on being given sentimental gifts that relate to us so when it’s time to give back we have a lot of stuff to live up to. If you think about it, there aren’t many options available for gifts for men as there are for women. With women you have failsafe things like flowers, chocolate and jewelry but there are no such options for guys.

The common suggestions for gifts for men are sports stuff but while that may work on birthdays it doesn’t work on holidays like Fathers day when you’re trying to show some appreciation for your dad or your husband. Golf balls and T-shirts aren’t a gift that fit the occasion and there’s also the fact that you can’t give the same kind of gift all year long (something that’s common with both men and women).

There is however a little secret that you need to know that‘ll simplify a lot of your gift giving problems. Even though men don’t admit it, they like chocolate just as much as you do and while women focus more on quality and the esthetics of a gift, men tend to focus more on value and usefulness (which is why they think blenders are a good gift for the wife).

With that in mind, you can start accepting some of the gift suggestions that seem bizarre to you, like gifting tools. You may not want another cookie cutter but men rarely say no to hammers and wrenches. While this may sound ridiculous, it is a somewhat reasonable gift. What it lacks is the appreciative factor which brings me back to the fact that men like chocolate and that kind of stuff, just as much as women do.

Here's another idea. Consider giving him fathers day gift baskets with a food theme like fathers day fruit baskets. Avoid the ones with alcohol and champagne or your mom might blow her top. Men are used to being given beer and other alcoholic drinks as gifts so try something unique and more on the solid food side of food themed gifts like fathers day fruit bouquets.

There’s the whole world of sports paraphernalia out there but it’s likely to cost you a lot since guys place value above all things anything that you pick out will be subject to heavy scrutiny. It’s a good idea only if you can stand a lot of criticism from your dad about a gift that you spent hours (or days) on buying.

Mothers Day Gifts

I kind of always believed that flowers are the only thing that should be sent to your mom on mothers day. I don’t know many people who give anything other than mothers day flowers and I used to be one of them. My choice in mothers day gifts changed last year but before that, it was always flowers that I ordered online. Mom lived at about an hour drive and since mothers day is on Sunday, I could’ve taken the time to see her but I thought that sending her flowers made up for my not being there.
What opened my eyes was a colleague of mine whose mother was diagnosed with Alzheimer. We didn’t have any history of mental diseases in our family but it made me realize that I didn’t appreciate my mom enough. I always blew her off with mothers day flowers, I’d occasionally send her mothers day fruit baskets but I rarely went to see her except on her birthday. I’d literally taken my mom for granted. I decided I had to change and that my mom, who’d, brought me up so well and made so many sacrifices for me deserved more respect and acknowledgment.
I began looking for mothers day gifts that could match the sentiments of flowers but all I found was jewelry (mass produced for the holiday) and it was mostly out of my budget. If I bought something that fell in my price range it was sure to be ugly. I thought I’d get her something with a food theme and that I’d take it to her personally, it was just a matter of finding the perfect mothers day gift. My diligent searching paid off and I found what I was looking for; fruit bouquets!!! They were fruit carved to look like flowers. Mom loved fruit and they looked spectacular ( with chocolate dipped strawberries), better than any bouquet I’d ever ordered for her. When I took it over she was surprised (to see me) and delighted with her gift.
